I’ve been a big fan of the Joolz Aer+ for a while now. It’s light, folds in one second (yes, literally), and has been my go-to for quick trips and travel. But then Joolz released the Aer²… and of course I had to see if it’s really that much better or just a marketing thing.
What’s the Same
Both strollers are crazy compact, look sleek, and are easy to push with one hand while holding a coffee in the other. They’re perfect for throwing in the car or even in an overhead compartment on a plane. Both are made from recycled materials (Joolz plants a tree for each sale too – which I love).
What’s New in the Aer²
1. Stands on its own The Aer+ was already quick to fold, but the Aer² folds just as easily and now stands by itself. No more awkwardly leaning it against a wall.
2. From birth ready Both the Aer+ and Aer 2 has a seperate cot option.
3. More comfort for baby (and you) The Aer² has bigger front wheels, a bit more legroom, and a bigger basket (8 kg capacity vs. 5 kg on the Aer+). That might not sound huge, but it’s the difference between “just a small bag” and “bag plus snacks plus toys plus half your house.” We are tall parents and the foot break has moved slightly which makes you step on it or hit it less often.
4. Small size for travel Both fold small enough for most airlines. The Aer² is slightly different in size but still totally cabin-friendly. 5. Whats included? On the Joolz website, the Aer 2 has a raincover included, and the footrest is integrated in the stroller. On the Aer+, both has to be bought separately.
Which One Should You Get?
If you already have an Aer+, you’re not missing out on a complete overhaul – it’s still a fantastic stroller. But if you’re buying new, I’d personally lean towards the Aer² for the comfort, bigger basket, and built in footrest.
For me, those little quality-of-life upgrades make a big difference when you’re juggling kids, snacks, and a million other things. Plus we are tall parents with long legs and on the Aer+ we keep hitting the footbreak.
